If Nemesis can't register a domain for you, Network Solutions can. They try to lure you into a bunch of other things but they're really the only place I've found that will ONLY register a domain and not require you to host with them. Once it's registered Nemesis can help you transfer it and I know to register a domain name it costs $12.99/year almost anywhere. It's a tad over a dollar a month so it's not bad. I don't know how that changes Nemesis' hosting terms though, but I hope that helps some.
