Your first 0 doesn't have a semicolon.
$totalAdopts = $mysidia->db->select("owned_adoptables", array("aid"), "owner = '{$mysidia->user->username}' && tab = 0")->fetchColumn();
$totalAdopts2 = $totalAdopts->rowCount();

Or maybe it doesn't matter? I dunno.
