Hi! Your site looks great so far, but just a few suggestions.
Mostly all layout ones since you said you're fixing it, and I figured you'd want input. Of course, these are all my thoughts so you're free to disregard them as you wish.
First off, the blue and green background is overpowering your website. The colors are both too bright and puts strain on the eyes. Not to mention, the white on blue is a really weird and grating contrast. I recommend you tone down the colors a bit so that everything isn't screaming for attention.
Secondly, when you have a stylized font like your banner does, it makes your navigation bar font look out of place. Especially considering that your body text is san serif. I recommend that you change that to give the website a little more harmony. Furthermore, on your side menu, there isn't enough contrast. I can barely read the text.
I think, if you make a few slight tweaks, the site will look even more impressive. c:
