Cannot log in to website

I can't log into my website! I've reset the password, and I got an activation code in my email. I went to the link, got my new password, and entered it in, but it still won't work! I know I did the setup right, but it won't work.

The email also appears to have been sent by myself. Is this a glitch?

Miss Dreamstar 03-28-2012 03:35 PM

I think it's probably because I have a space in my username. Is there any way to change this?

Please do not do three posts right one after another. It is considered good manners to just put all of the info into the first post. :3

First off, no, the email is sent from the admin's email - which is you, so it's not a glitch. Secondly, spaces shouldn't be an issue. If you think it might be that, go into the phpmyadmin in your host, find the "prefix"_users area and change the username there.

First question - are you using the script version 1.3.0? If no, then you didn't encode it.

If yes, then...

Second question - are you writing your username EXACTLY as you wrote it when you signed up? Including caps? Because Hi and hi would be two different usernames on the site - it needs to include caps.

If yes, then...

Do you have any other accounts on your site? If not, try making another one (test account) and trying to log in. If you can log into that one, but not your admin one, then chances are I don't know what the issue is and there is probably a glitch in the password-recovery script.

If you /can't/ log into the second account, then it's probably the user glitch a few people have reported with other users not being able to login. I haven't heard of it happening to the admin user though.

Sorry about the 3 posts in a row. I should have edited the post.

I made a test account, and it worked. I'll try reinstalling the script.

I would suggest first going and trying to remove the gap in the name - see if you can elimate all of those suggestions before completely destroying it. xD

Well my username has gap in it and it does not have any problem. Id say it is not the issue here, perhaps she just entered the wrong username. This can happen since the field is case sensitive, and the field does not accept symbols such as -.

And yes, the password reset feature is glitched. It is confirmed in our bug tracker project, and a solution has been proposed by myself. The glitch will be officially gone in Mys v1.3.1, but if you want to resolve it right now, please go to this page and download the two script files from attachment:

I went into my phpMyAdmin and changed the test user to an admin. I'm going to work from there.

Hall of Famer 03-28-2012 04:02 PM

Oh okay then, I still recommend you to download the attachment to fix the password reset glitch since your members can easily have the same problems as you just had.

Miss Dreamstar 03-28-2012 04:22 PM

Thanks a lot guys. I did what Hall of Famer said and it worked.
