The Codfin Keeper's Adoptable Site

Original title, riiiiiight? :veeee:

Progress: get ready for epic failure

Art - some very small percentage (idk how many adopts I'll have)
CSS - 80% ...? Not so sure, but I like the theme I have now.
Quests - 1/X
Features - Maybe...3...out of idk?
Forum - first of all...wut? Second, 0/1

As you can see, it's being developed. I also can't tell what I'm going to add, since it just flows outta my head. :colonu:

A banner still needs to be made (by me), but for now take a link. A quest will appear later today. :happyc:

Not bad, but the background kinda hurts my eyes

DragonTamerChris 01-23-2011 08:34 AM

Hmm...interesting site, I see there is a snake adopt in there. XD

I like the CSS, it looks cool and it's nicely setup.

Do you have anything planned for the site? x3

The Codfin Keeper 01-23-2011 10:10 AM

Well yes, once I add a certain quest creature I'll add the first quest. I don't yet know of any other features, apart from an explore map. :Q:

elfhome 01-24-2011 03:54 PM

The CSS is totally awesome! What a cute little snake adoptable, too.

If I ask nicely do you think maybe you'd let me make an adoptable for your site. >_> I have always wanted to make a fish but I felt it would look really odd on a site dedicated 100% to birds...

The Codfin Keeper 01-24-2011 08:11 PM

Sure, that would be just fine! :)

Using the breeding mod as a guide, I managed to add a searching system! Choose a creature to search with, and every day you can search the wild for a chance to find a creature!

Also, two new creatures are coming soon, so keep returning! :colonu:

Hall of Famer 01-27-2011 01:00 PM

You seem to have lots of navtabs on your site. I'd strongly recommend you to use dropdowm menu because of this.

The Codfin Keeper 01-27-2011 02:23 PM

How would I go about doing that? :coloness:

The Codfin Keeper 02-02-2011 09:15 AM

UPDATE!

An inventory has been added! Up until St. Patrick's Day, when you visit the front page while logged in, you will receive a promotional item to commemorate the creation of the inventory feature, and also the site itself. A use for this item will come soon.

*NOTE: Only one can be obtained.

The Codfin Keeper 02-09-2011 07:19 PM

Third update + revival, lol. :BIGO:

Wild Slots has appeared! Visit the page to pull the lever, then do it again and again until you win! Currently it's free, but if people abuse the reward system, a price will be added for each spin. It will be tripled for the offender at that point.

Also, elfhome is now an Artist, and their first addition to the site is the Fish, available on the main adopt page. Finally, the Zoo Ruins, after a while, got the prize finally up. For some reason I put it off for a while. /made it hard enough to stall people...or so he thinks

Hall of Famer 02-10-2011 03:29 PM

Sounds interesting, glad you are making progresses on your site so far.

And a new artist? Congrats, hope it works out for ya.

The Codfin Keeper 02-10-2011 05:32 PM

Thanks, HoF. ^^

Also, just noticed this can be moved to Adoptable Sites Showcase. :usedusedused:

Lunaria 02-11-2011 06:41 PM

Nice! I might join sometime. Also, I would like to be an artist, but one who colors linearts, if that is ok.

elfhome 02-13-2011 02:46 PM

I am much better at line arts than coloring, if you let Lunaria color in my art I can get more critters done.

The Codfin Keeper 02-13-2011 07:26 PM

Okay, you two can both do so. As long as they're not normal snakes, normal fish, normal slugs, or normal INSERT QUEST CREATURE HERE s. :happycbig:

Hall of Famer 02-14-2011 03:43 AM

umm you are having two artists then? Sounds neat to me.

elfhome 02-14-2011 02:19 PM

I made a little hermit crab. Funny sort of chap.

Now if you'd excuse me, I have to remove my parrot's beak from my mouse...
EDIT: Excuse me... BAD BIRD!

Hall of Famer 02-14-2011 03:28 PM

I may consider moving it to adoptables site showcase after more progresses are made, for now it looks good so far. Keep it up.

Clydesdale (Needs to be re-colored?)

The Codfin Keeper 02-16-2011 08:00 PM

Thanks, elfhome! Either I or Lunaria (I think it was her) will get around to coloring the hermit, whenever we get the chance. With the Clydesdale, more stages are needed - at least a foal stage. :)

I've added a medal system (trophies coming soon!) for each creature, gaining a medal or upgrading at 50 clicks, 100 clicks, and 200 clicks. If you find any errors, please tell me, as the medals are in beta stage and so I need to steamroll out the bugs.

elfhome 02-17-2011 10:12 AM

Someone will also have to color the foal in, as I don't have the time at this moment.

Also, sheep!

These look really nice too, you are really one of the most skilled artists here.

Well, it keeps me sane. It makes me feel better to draw for a purpose. I don't draw for a living anymore, so... :(

Chix:

Cockatiel:
http://i271.photobucket.com/albums/j...ifts/tiels.png
(Baby, Juvie, Female/Male Juvie (Could be either as they cannot be sexed until 6 months) and Adult Male.

Bugs (Budgies):

In 2 of the most common colors. The ones with the brown ceres (fleshy part on the beak) are females in breeding condition (mature & healthy).

Edit: 1) Needs more shading 2) Needs more color variations
I can do it myself or someone else. Whoever gets to them first can finish them, I guess.

The Codfin Keeper 02-18-2011 06:33 PM

Once all of those are complete and all stages needed are done (if not enough yet), I will add them in as needed/in the right places. :colonu:

The Codfin Keeper 02-21-2011 08:23 PM

BIG update!

The mines have appeared! Keep picking away at the wall until you find a mineral! Bring them to the forge, and forge awesome items such as the Obsidian Pot, which multiplies the dollar gain from feeding a creature by 1.5x.

Also, I have set up a shop on these forums, Trinkets of the Codfin Sea. The reason I'm mentioning this is because special items will appear in there that benefit you on TCKAS, such as the item that is in there right now, so check it out! :pleased:

Sasoragon 02-22-2011 04:39 PM

I tried registering on TCKAS, but I got an error message. D:

Let me try to fix that...
EDIT: Fixed. :D

Also, everyone, please disregard the menu error at the top. I'm working on having it be a drop-down menu, so just forget it's like that. x3

They do need to be shrunk down in a good image program, but I wasn't sure what size you wanted.
