Default EDIT: Problem Solved :)

Just joined, no idea what I'm doing...:(

How do you do this step?

Quote:
Step 4: CHMOD the following files and directories so they are writable:

inc > config.php to 777
picuploads > gif to 777
picuploads > jpg to 777
I have no idea what CHMOD means (looked it up on Google and still don't get it) and I'll probably need simpler instructions for the next step too...:( I even wonder how I got this far. I have almost no knowledge about making websites/editing websites so simple instructions and screenshots are extremely helpful.

So help would be appreciated...and if I forgot to mention anything just ask.

EDIT: Look at my second post please. (after the post below this one)

Default RE: CHMOD Help...Lots of help...

CHMOD means to set permissions for the file or folder. Permissions mean who can write, read, (doh help.. brain fart on the 3rd :P) Anyways, once you uplaod the files via FTP.. click on the file/folder & go to permissions.. then you can set them to the right CHMOD number as specified. Learn here http://www.phpjunkyard.com/ftp-chmod-tutorial.php

Thank you!
As you can see I am very lost! :)
Now hopefully I can solve the 5th step...

EDIT:
Now the 5th step isn't working... I do what it says but I get an error...

Default RE: Now it's Installing help needed...

Alright...it sorta works...it goes to the file but it won't open the installer...It just highlights it.

EDIT: Duh...I'm a retard...I was typing it into the wrong place! It's good now.
Thank you Seapyramid!
