Good, cheap hosts?

When Mys. v1.4 comes out, I plan on switching to paid hosting and a domain. I've only tested out HostGator (expensive, site wouldn't update) and Godaddy (downtime a lot).

Are there any good cheap-ish hosts out there that you've personally used or have friends who've said good things about a host?
