Two Things

One is a glitch- guests can send friend requests. I've received two friend requests so far from non-existent people. This is just annoying, is all.

Now, the second is that I want to use a completely different theme/layout, but I'm not sure how I'd keep everything in tact, so to speak. Basically I don't want the drop down menu on the site, so I'm not sure how I make the menu not a drop down one. In other words, I am wanting to make the navigating bar vertical, how should I go about this? (I understand CSS well enough to be able to understand what someone tells/shows me).
