Default Profile Pictures >.<

Whenever someone sets an image as their profile picture, it doesn't seem to like it if it is from their desktop. For the admins on my site, I have created custom ones to show that they are admins and have put them in the actual image files in Filezilla (and have given them a direct link which works fine)

But as I have started getting betas they are noticing that it really only works if they have a profile image hosted externally. And save me either getting people to let me put the images they want into the base files of the site (not really wanted) or putting a notice up saying 'please host images on another site', is there a way to allow it? Or is it impossible?

Also, when you are sending messages to someone or someone is sending messages to you, if their profile image is very big, it shows the whole thing. Is there a way to automatically re-size a profile image when they do something? It'll just look neater than having a huge profile picture take up the whole space and push all content about who sent the messsage and when to the side :P

Thank you :)

For now, you can put up a notice like this - if you head into view/accountview.php, below this:
PHP Code:
$profileForm->add(new Comment("Avatar: "FALSE));
$profileForm->add(new TextField("avatar"$profile->getAvatar()));
You can add something like:
PHP Code:
$profileForm->add(new Comment("<span style='font-size: 10px'>*Please host your images on a site like <a href='http://tinypic.com/'>TinyPic</a>.</span>"));
These pictures have an id tag of 'avatar' and you can probably resize them with a bit of css in your stylesheet. #avatar { width: 50px } or something.

It should, in fact, be possible to host these images yourself, but it would require some effort... I hope something like this is included in the next release of Mysidia, though.
