Default Install Help?

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post it... but a little help figuring out how to install the adoptable script?

I have little knowhow of all this database stuff, and only just managed to get the folder up and running. xD

I downloaded all of the files (were we suppose to add the ones in the sub-folders inside the "Adoptables" folder as well?) and not sure about the next step in the "Read Me" file, which is this part;

2. CHMOD the following files and directories:

inc > config.php to 777
picuploads > gif to 777
picuploads > jpg to 777

Step 3 looks a little hard as well... xD A little help?

Its hosted on iPage, in case anyone is wondering... its actually (if it works) going to be a subsite for our main site, so I made a different FTP dictionary for it. So it should be hosted on the same domain.

Anyway, help? D:

That step is just telling you you need to set read/write permissions on those files/folders. Wherever you have those uploaded to, there should be something that shows you which number they are set to, and some way for you to change it, it might be different depending on your host/cpanel, but there should be a CHMOD option, where you can change the numbers to 777. In my cpanel and my FTP program, I can right click each folder/file and set the permissions, maybe you could try that?

Look around the options in your file manager. There should be one called "CHMOD". On mine I have to check the selected files then click a button to CHMOD, on the above poster's, she/he right-clicks the files and clicks "CHMOD". Anyway, once you find it, just type in "777". This allows the installer to write to said files. Afterwards, make sure you set config.php to 644. If you're having trouble finding the CHMOD option then post a screenshot and I'll see if I can help you. Hope I helped,

Ashje. :D
