Strange text files in Public html

I haven't worked on my site for a few months due to college and other rl issues, but today I noticed a bunch of random text files mixed with my Public_html files. They all seem to have been added between mid-to-late November and have a random mix of letters and numbers for their names. I can be oblivious at times, but I don't remember these and I'm not sure what to do with them?

I decided to download and open one in a separate text editor (I know, not a good idea with files I don't recognize, but I got curious) and all it contained was a url (that I didn't go to).

you should prob delete them because they maybe malicious files or random cookies generated text file.. by the way which host are you using and is it free host ??

That's what I was thinking as well, but didn't want to go ahead and delete them and some how mess up something else. I'm using Mysidiahost and have never had this happen before.

Go ahead and delete it :) it just storing waste cookies
