I remember
This is a true story about me and my ex-friend. Luckily I only knew them online so it wasn't such a big deal.
Your hate can't dissolve Anything I know It doesn't cloud my mind with an endless mist Your insults don't hurt me Your hate can't change what I remember I remember when we were friends When I turned to you for help When you thanked me again And again I remember when you helped me When you defended me When even your friends liked me When I gave you advice That you willingly accepted When you forgave me After I swore at you and your friends After I dissed your site and your lives And even when everyone hated me You stuck with me And you didn't tease me And you understood But now that's all over And loathing is the only thing we have in common Loathing towards each other And all I have to comfort myself Is what I remember

Funny how horrible things get turned into art, like losing a friend or a lover, or having someone die. It's like the blues. I have the same thing happen a lot, like having a relationship end and plunging into depression for several years, almost dying, then getting pulled out of it. I incorporated that into a story and it became an important part of a love interest between two of my main characters. I think pain is an important component of the fuel of art.
