To fix the function for resetting passwords, you have to create an email for your site. This must be done through cPanel or whatever file management system your host uses, since it won't be able to send to or from your personal email account. I'm unsure if business/paid gmail accounts work, but they might. (I figured that out recently, since none of my users were getting emails from the site)
Afterwards, you can manually change the site's email to whatever you just made by logging into phpMyAdmin and going to adopts_settings(?). If you can't edit the table, just click on the "structure" tab and make one of the columns either a key or unique column.
