My next possible project - Multi User Website Builder - Thoughts?

Hello All,

I just wanted to let you all of what I think my next project will be. I've been wanting to make a multi-user website / CMS system for some time now, and I think I've finally found a way to do this.

I've found a CMS called Triton that is very lightweight but is also powerful and would also be easy to modify for multiple users. I've been considering converting it to a multi-user script so that you could offer free websites along with free forums to your visitors. The script would be very similar to the MyBB Multiforums Mod but with changes to allow for free website hosting instead of forums.

Look over the Triton website and try their demo (user: admin pass: demo) and let me know your first impressions as well as if you would want a multiple user script of this.

:)

Funny, I just had this very idea myself. I like the design of Triton's ACP very much, but I could think of a few improvements to the functionality... ;)

But it's funny, I was just thinking about making one myself. Go for it!

Yeah, I think I'm going to try and make one using Triton. The ACP is a bit limited though, as well as somewhat confusing for new users. I've already started redesigning portions of the Triton ACP to help new users of the software make website pages quicker and easier without getting confused. :)

Could this link in with the mybb multiforums so you can offer your users a forum and website in one installation?

That is an interesting idea. I suppose this could be done with some work. Would you want just them both to be made at the same time, or integration of members / posts as well?

Both of them could be made would be nice. But best if they have a choice to turn it on or off, so as to have convenience if they did not have the idea of including a forum. And best if they could also install their own forum if they doesn't like MyBB.

Well built in of members and posts would be good. Members I see can be done however mybb isnt supported with it yet but will be soon. Posts and polls etc would be good but I couln't see that as being a feature of triton as it is a cms and not a portal.
